Today I'm in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Yeah... not too fancy I know. There's some kind of weird festival involving bird watching and sausage barbequeing in the middle of nowhere, so all the hotels are booked (go figure). I found this little out of this world bed and breakfast. It's a big house in the Italian Countryside style. And it's AWESOME. It's so romantic yet scary at the same time because... again... Crawfordsville = middle of absolutely nowhere. It's raining big time and the wind is blowing like crazy. The owner is quite charming and brought me a glass of wine and cheese and grapes. I have a bathtub with lion feet and high ceilings even Matai couldn't touch. (daydreams running wild in my head right now... oohlala). It took me forever to find this place because I got lost. But I'm so glad I found it. Totally beats the Comfort Inn at the freeway exit.
So tonight i finished Vanessa. I'm drawing everyone and it's a lot fun. I really am turning my world into a cartoon. I love it.

Painting Numero Dos
I haven't posted here in forEVER! So let's see... This is my second painting that I just recently finished. I'm pretty happy with it. Hopefully I'll be doing more this summer.
I will be in Barcelona from August 10 to the 20. I can't wait!!! I really need to take off and party somewhere new... Besides that, I'm finally starting to enjoy my new job (not so new anymore), and SAn Diego Comicon is coming up! That'll be fun... Aurore is coming up this week for the summer. Oh! And I got this new studio all to myself in Brentwood... just behind Q's and Cabo Cantina, which does not help the party addiction... Oh well... I'm sure I'll deal with it just fine. Allright time to go get sassy and go rock Moonshadows.

FTL Krew
Here's alittle drawing I did for Alex's birthday. Who's who? I'll let you guess.
I started a cool new job a couple of weeks ago. I am now an official employee of TOKYOPOP. This is pretty huge. Tokyopop is a major manga publisher in the USA. We are "leading the Manga Revolution" as they say... So that's very exciting. They sent me to Wisconsin (not so exciting) as soon as I started. Next week I'm going to Quebec (a little more exciting).
Besides that... life goes on... Enjoying every minute of it, as cheezy as this may sound.
Shout out to the FTL Krew... "love you long time!"

My first canvas...
Monday February 06th, 2006. 11pm.
This is my first canvas and I just finished it. I'm lying because I did do a crappy painting a few years back but it doesn't count... no really...it doesn't.
Because we all know I need some serious motivation before I bring out the brushes and tubes of acrylic, a couple of my friends decided to put me on the spot. They bought a canvas. Gave it to me. Told me it was for them and they were waiting for it. So I did. I had a great time doing this and can't wait to do the next one. This is a start and it's taking some serious ballz for me to show it... If it actually ends up on my friends' wall (as they say the plan is) it's gonna cause some serious trauma (for me) (or maybe even for their guests). Alright... On to the next one I guess... :)

Doodle a Redhead
Some days, you sit at the drawing table and you decide you're gonna do this "Awesome Piece!"... and all you do is crap worthy of toilet paper. Then some other days you're bored and pick up a pen that just kinda happened to be there, and you doodle something while thinking of life, death or what you're gonna have for lunch tomorrow... And then that doodle you didn't give a rat's ass about turns out to be kinda cool. So you spend more time on it and then in the end you're happy and you don't care about life and death or tomorrow's lunch anymore.

Aspen Pin Up 2

So here's Aspen M. as a sexy beyaaaaatch. Tomorrow I will bring both illustrations to the studio. It'll be up to them to choose whichever they prefer.
On a side note, I am starting yet another new job tomorrow. This time in animation... Not sure how it's gonna go. I am kind of reevaluating my options these days (sigh).
Keep posted for more later... I'm gonna play Myst III: Exile followed by a session of Sex and the City Season 6 part 2.

Aspen Pin Up 1
So Aspen Comics has asked me to draw something to be printed in one of their next issues. They gave me one page... "a pin up page" as we call'em. The assignment was for me to draw Aspen Matthews, the main protagonist of their main series "Fathom", after whom the company was named. This is what I came up with yesterday. But as I was coloring it, I thought they might want something a bit... sexier. They don't call it a Pin Up page for nothing after all.
